Jill Le Croissette draws inspiration for her textile art from her life experiences, her emotions and her memories. Jill's quilts are characterized by serenity, clarity of line and intuitive use of color. She strives for integrity and elegance in all her work.
She chooses to work with fabrics and thread because fabric has a universal resonance; it shelters us from birth to death and is a part of all the vital ceremonies of life. The act of stitching connects her to every other woman who has held a needle in her hand. Working with stitch and sensuous, tactile fabric allows her to express her creativity in a way that no other medium can do.
Jill is increasingly trying to simplify her work, paring down images and stitchery to their basic elements and deleting unnecessary details.
